I had safe sex (condom) with someone 3 months ago and I started having tingling and burning sensations roughly a week later, although mild. Herpes can take something like 12-16 weeks for the virus to show up in your bloodstream. I'm having a hard time following how long after you had sex that you got tested. It sounds like 4 weeks to me. If this is correct, I'd get retested.
