I test positive for both HSV-1 and 2 anti bodies. The only possible signs I have shown for having one or the other are white sores in my mouth. Can you catch the virus in other locations of the body after you are already infected and have the antibodies?

    I you have had herpes for over a year it is hard to spread it to other parts of your body. The reason being in essence you’ve been vaccinated. It is still possible, but not very likely. The only reason the virus survives in the body once you build up immunity is it hides in the sensory root ganglia and goes dormant.
