If I myself do not have oral herpies, and perform oral sex on my partner, whom also does not have oral herpies...but my partner has the hsvgenital only, and also a carrier of the hpv virus. Can I contract either virus from him orally? RIsks?? or should I not risk at all at any time? that would suck! pardon the pun!

  • I have not yet had any kind of contact with this person. am looking to gain knowledge as a preventative measure.

Herpes is a viral infection of the skin. The virus is spread by coming in direct skin-to-skin contact with the infected area through a mucous membrane... For detail, click here

Yes, the possibility is there for you to contract HSV 2 orally ..but it has been known to be low risk . If you wish to engage in oral sex with your partner and are concerned then I suggest you perform it with him wearing a condom ( for some protection)
