Sites covered by this policy may provide "links" that lead to third-party sites, of which matchstd.com has no control, and these policies may not apply. It is up to the user to ensure that they keep track of the privacy policies on these sites, and matchstd.com will not be held liable for any issues that arise due to linked material.
Collected Information
The following describes the information that may be collected by matchstd.com and what is done with that information
IP Address:
Your IP address, or internet protocol address, may be collected by matchstd.com for statistical analysis. We use your IP address for catching system abuse, and for logging traffic, to make your experience on matchstd.com better. Your IP and browsing history here at matchstd.com will at no point be sold or given to any third-party.
Cookies:
We implement the use of cookies to allow you to log in and move around the site. Specifically, we will use a cookie to store an encrypted version of your log in on your computer, but only when the system is explicitly asked to "remember" it. We also implement "sessions", which use cookies to store a unique identifying number, which we use to keep you logged in. Without cookies enabled, it will be impossible to utilize the services of matchstd.com.
Personal Information:
Matchstd.com will collect a number of details from you during the registration process. This information will be kept in our system and never directly sold or given to any third-party. Information such as your birthday will not be accessible, and a calculated age will be printed instead. Your zip-code (US only) will be transferred to city/state, and nobody that is not in your matching profile will be able to view any of the information that you submit.
How we use collected personal information
Personal information is used to determine other members who will match with your profile, and a subset of that information can be used for advertisement targeting. Advertisers are able to target their ads to members with specific stds, age ranges, genders, and locations. Your personal information will not be sold to the advertiser directly, although an advertiser may use malicious mechanism to gain such information through the third-party link. Matchstd.com will do it's best to weed out such advertisers, and cannot be held responsible for any information that they collect due to consumer negligence.
Encryption
Matchstd.com does not yet utilize SSL, but we plan to do so in the future. Currently we use salted MD5 encryption for password storage. All other information is simply password protected. This may change with the introduction of SSL at a later time
Changing Your Profile
You reserve the right to change information in your profile at any time. We have offered a web interface that allows this information to be altered, but we have excluded certain bits. Due to possible abuse, the STD list cannot be altered after it is created. Nor can your birthday, or any other unchangeable information be altered. Profile deletion is now offered through the web interface.
Contacting matchstd.com
When you contact matchstd.com through e-mail, your e-mail address will be passed across many networks. We cannot remove record of your e-mail from some of the middle-man services, but we can guarantee that we will never make attempts to associate the individual with an account at matchstd.com. If you prefer not to have an e-mail sent back to you, please write that in the contents of the e-mail to matchstd.com.
